Upgrade your home security with wifi or hard-wired security camera systems
Did you know that wireless security cameras only provide visual certifications once detectors are activated (or with on-demand requests)? Hard-wired systems, on the other hand, provide more comprehensive monitoring services with 24-hour surveillance.
At Secure Time, we can recommend stand-alone security cameras or integrated systems with an on-site recorder. We offer hard-wired and wifi setups for indoor and outdoor use.
The cameras we install have flexible recording and storage options. These include data stored locally on your recorder, a secure digital (SD) card, or cloud storage, which may require an ongoing fee. For comprehensive protection, you can view it all on an app and/or by our monitoring service.
No longer strictly for businesses, cameras have become affordable for homes and holiday baches as well.

Get the latest AI Security Camera Systems
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fast becoming a major part of camera systems. It can distinguish between pets and other animals, trees moving in the wind, parcels, people, and vehicles. AI can ignore events like your cat walking in front of the camera or trigger a warning if someone enters a particular area.
This advanced technology allows for searches based on a selected set of criteria, such as a man wearing glasses, a blue top, and black trousers. It is improving every day, and we will soon be able to provide AI for existing camera systems to make them much more effective in the fight against crime.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are wireless security cameras as good as hard-wire camera installations?
Not yet! Wireless security camera installations have limitations due to their batteries and can be subject to interference when sending video.
Battery limitation – wireless cameras do not run constantly; a large battery would be required to achieve this. The camera is turned off most of the time to ensure a reasonable battery life. There is a motion detector that stays on, which uses a lot less battery power. When the motion sensor detects motion, the camera turns on and starts recording. So there is always a short delay until the camera starts working. Sometimes, the motion sensor may not detect motion, so nothing is recorded. Hard-wired security cameras run constantly and use changes in the viewed images to initiate required actions.
Interference—All wireless signals can be interfered with accidentally or deliberately. This can stop notifications and videos from being sent. Hard-wired cameras are much harder to interfere with.
As battery technology improves, standard wireless cameras may be able to run continuously, which would remove one of their major limitations.
Why is my alarm keypad beeping?
If you have a home alarm installed and it keeps beeping, there are three possible causes.
- It’s not your alarm keypad beeping; it’s a battery-powered smoke detector that needs the battery replaced. This is very common, so check your smoke detectors first
- There is something wrong with the alarm, and the keypad is beeping to warn you. Contact your Secure Time to find out what the issue is.
- One or more of your motion sensors is operating in chime mode, which means the keypad will beep every time someone moves in front of the sensor(s). Contact your trusted security provider to learn how to turn chime mode off if you don’t want it operating.
How often should my alarm be serviced?
It is best to have an annual check to make sure everything is working as it should, the panel backup battery is okay, and signals are going to be monitored correctly if the alarm is monitored. The main alarm panel backup battery usually lasts five years. If you have wireless devices installed, the batteries can last anywhere from 1 to 5 years, depending on the type of device and the battery used. These can be checked and replaced in an annual service.
